Kansas City Investment Advisor Ranked in Forbes’s Top 100 List

Kansas City Investment Advisor Ranked in Forbes’s Top 100 List

FAS Wealth Partners Inc. (“FAS”), formerly Financial Advisory Service, Inc., was recently ranked as one of  America’s Top 100 RIA Firms by Forbes. The inaugural ranking list names 100 advisory firms across the country including two KC Metro companies selected out of more than 35,000 nominations. FAS ranks 79th on the list.

As one of the first comprehensive financial planning and wealth management firms in the Midwest, FAS was built with a business model and culture dedicated to investing in the financial well-being of clients within a concierge experience. Jake Barnes, Managing Director at FAS, says the FAS business model is designed for a top-of-the-line customer experience.

“Since inception FAS has been dedicated to creating a unique customer service experience,” said Barnes. “Our ownership model and relationship-driven culture place the client at the center of everything we do. Our inclusion on the Forbes list of America’s Top RIA Firms shows our dedication to our clients and the quality of  service and financial advice provided by our boutique firm.”

FAS was established in 1979 and has charted significant growth since 2016 increasing its high-net-worth families it serves by 126% and the number of associates by 53%. FAS works with approximately 1,300 affluent individuals and families across the U.S. and manages more than $2.2 Billion in assets (as of 12/31/22).

“Recognition by Forbes is further validation our philosophy of putting clients first is paramount to the long-term success of the firm,” said Managing Director Tom Meier. “Being included in a ranking list that incorporates quantitative statistics like growth and client retention, and qualitative factors like firm culture and client experience, is an honor and a testament to the team we have built. We never want to lose sight of the fact that our continued success is driven by our loyal client base and the quality team members who serve them”.

The Forbes list was compiled by SHOOK Research and is based on a rigorous nomination and vetting process that uses quantitative data, qualitative metrics, and interviews with member firms. Selection criteria measured aspects like processes that are inherent in each client relationship and the underlying culture seen throughout all levels of employees. According to SHOOK Research quality is always measured first, and prior to including a firm in their rankings extensive due diligence is conducted. SHOOK emphasizes it is not a “robo-ranker”, unlike many other advisor rankings because production numbers and assets do not tell the whole story. SHOOK also notes it is the only ranking organizations that interviews firms and advisors via phone and in person at the firm’s location. A complete summary of the process as well as methodology can be found here.
